Ferries

Ferries are an option for the northerly offices. The Brittany and Normandy offices are less than an hour away from Ferry ports, whereas to get to Loire, Limousin, Vienne or Charente, the journey time will be between three to four hours. Caen is probably the best port to sail to for journeys to these offices.

P & O:- Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Le Havre.

Brittany Ferries:- Portsmouth to St Malo and Caen. Poole to Cherbourg and Plymouth to Roscoff.

Condor Ferries:- Poole to St Malo during the summer months.

There are also ferries from Ireland:-

Rosslare to Cherbourg and Roscoff with Irish ferries.

Dublin and Rosslare to Cherbourg with P&O ferries.

You can sail from Portsmouth to Bilbao with P&O ferries, the crossing takes 24 hours and will cost you around £390 for 2 adults with a cabin.

You can also get across by ferry to Northern France from Dover, Folkestone or Newhaven, primarily to Calais, Boulogne, Dunkirk or Dieppe, which takes anywhere from forty five minutes via Hoverspeed's SeaCat or SuperSeaCat services to one hour and thirty minutes via the normal ferries such as Stena, although you will be looking at a six hour drive to the Loire and around a seven hour drive to the Limousin and surrounding areas.
