Use of English TV in France

  • If the TV bought in England is fairly modern and can receive both PAL and SECAM it can be used for watching TV in France (refer to handbook for PAL / SECAM info)

 

  • If the TV can receive only PAL it can be used only for watching video cassettes in France

  • A Digibox enables you to watch English TV when in France
It costs about £4-500 (7-800 euro) for the full installation with digital box, card and installation. There were several operatives throughout central/ north west France. They all travel for a mileage fee. There are cheaper options – you can bring your own box that you should have set up before you come to France and then just pay for the installation fee but check with your local operatives if they are happy to do this. There is also a new card out that allows you for a cheaper price to only receive BBC channels this is around 5-600 Euro. Second Hand boxes are also available.
